The Dirty Dozen / Clean Fifteen

If you’re like us at BB&R, you are aware that buying organic is important for your health but why does it seem like everything that is GOOD for us is more expensive?

This is where the Dirty Dozen/Clean Fifteen List really comes into play and helps us save a few bucks. The lists are assembled based on data from tests recently conducted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), as well as the USDA’s Pesticide Testing Program and the Food and Drug Administration. We recommend bringing this list with you when you are shopping for produce.

The Dirty Dozen is a list of the 12 fruits and vegetables that contain the highest concentrations of pesticides, which the EQG recommends buying organic.

The Clean Fifteen is a list of 15 fruits and vegetables that contain the fewest concentrations of pesticides, which the EWG believes are the safest foods to buy conventionally.
