The formal practice of mindfulness is meditation. Meditation comes in many forms, but is at heart the practice of sitting quietly and focusing on the breath. Through meditation we learn to observe our thoughts with kindness and non-judgment to avoid getting caught up in our tangled minds.
A great way to begin practicing meditation is with guided meditation, which is one of the many kinds of meditation techniques available. Guided meditation uses visualization to bring about awareness and to open our heart.
